Topeka Bankruptcy Attorney Mark Neis

Mark Neis is a board certified consumer bankruptcy specialist credentialed by the American Board of Certification, one of two in Topeka and ten in Kansas.

He represents debtors and small business proprietors in chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. He generally does not represent creditors.

Mark is a partner in the Topeka law firm, Neis & Michaux, P.A. He and his wife, Jill Michaux, formed the firm in 1984 when they married and merged their individual law practices.

He was graduated from Washburn University with a bachelor of business administration degree in 1973 and with a juris doctor from the Washburn University School of Law in 1977.

He is a founding member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He was a founder and past president of the Topeka Area Bankruptcy Council. He was a founding member of the Kansas Bar Association Bankruptcy and Insolvency Section. He is a member of the Topeka Bar Association and the local Jayhawker men’s club.

Mark frequently volunteers as a judge in high school debate and collegiate mock trial competitions. His avocations include golf, ballroom dancing, gourmet cooking, travel, movies and music.
